Camp Wallowa Boy Scout Camp Staff Reunion in Joseph Oregon

We recently played host to Hank, Gene and their wives.  Hank, Gene and Bill were all part of the Camp Wallowa Boy Scout Camp Staff from the 1960s here at Wallowa Lake.  The Boy Scout Camp is still there and part of the Blue Mountain Council, but it’s no longer used as a resident camp as it was during the 1960s.

Hank and Gene periodically descend upon our Joseph bed and breakfast to see what Bill’s up to, check on the camp, and generally have a good time seeing the sights of Joseph.  Our “real” bed and breakfast guests also have the opportunity to experience Hank.  As Master Facilitator for Wine Press Northwest Magazine, Hank knows his wines and loves to share his knowledge.

It’s always good to have old friends come for a visit, even in the midst of our busiest season here at our Joseph bed and breakfast.  It’s fun to imagine these guys 40 years ago running around the Wallowa Mountains and swimming in Wallowa Lake!

I worked at camp wallowa in summer of 1957. I was hired as the bugler and taught knot tying & helped at the rifle range. Does anyone remember me?

Found this site and was wondering if any more reunions are planned.
