Bed and Breakfast
The
Bronze Antler is an American-style
bed & breakfast
with European influence. Our 1925 Craftsman Bungalow was originally home
to one of Joseph's sawmill supervisors. The warm patina of original
woodwork, copper-plated hardware, and period-inspired hand-painted
stencils accents all rooms. Local craftspeople helped us restore this
home in keeping with the William Morris tradition of the European Arts
and Crafts movement.
Our
living and dining rooms hold a mixture of European antiques and
comfortable furniture. A satellite television with DVD/VCR, games,
puzzles, and a library of hiking guides, field guides, and local books
and maps are available for your use.
Plan your day of gallery hopping and bronze foundry touring.
Reconnoiter for your hike or bike ride, or plan your wilderness
horseback or llama trek. Browse through our local restaurant menus while
sipping complimentary soft drinks from the guest refrigerator. Enjoy a
glass of sherry in front of the candlelit fireplace (of age guests only,
please). The entire bed & breakfast has secure wireless internet access.
Bring along your laptop for checking email and surfing.
In
the morning Bill serves a wholesome, savory breakfast prepared from many
local ingredients. We believe in choice—you tell us when you’d like your
breakfast between 7:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. Pop downstairs as early as 6
a.m. and take a cup of delicious organic
Cafe Cartago ™ coffee or a spot of tea back to your room. Better yet,
we'll give you a go-cup so you can take in the morning freshness at our
nearby
Joseph City Park.
Hot water for tea or cocoa and individualized coffee service are always
available. Refreshments and Heather’s fresh desserts are set out later
in the day. Enjoy them in our living room or outdoors on the covered
porch. Looking for a late night snack? Raid the bottomless cookie jar!
We feature regional wines of the Columbia River Valley in our cellar.
Please feel welcome to bring along your own favorites. Glasses and
corkscrews are available in each guest room.
